What is rhythm notation?
All musical events have a specific rhythm, and this rhythm can be defined using a clear language of symbols called rhythm notation. When teaching your class about notation is important to make it as simple and easy to remember as possible. By displaying this chart in your classroom as a visual aid you can use it as a helpful reminder of how rhythm is broken down into divisions of four.
In the model music curriculum, rhythm comes under musicianship and is one of the main areas of learning throughout the year alongside, pitch and pulse.
