What are musical elements?
The musical elements are the different things that you hear when you listen to music. They are what makes a piece of music unique and different from other sounds.
If you perform a piece of music, even if its just singing in the shower – then you are showing that you have a sense of what the musical elements are.
Recognising what the elements of music are is a really important factor of musicianship focussed on in KS2. It can really help your class to take their understanding of music and music theory further. Use this presentation to give your class clear definitions of each musical element they will need to know and recognise by the end of KS2.
